Kürzlich hat Brian Teeman in seinem Blog über Joomanuals berichtet. Joomanuals ist eine äußerst interessante Idee, welche es so in der Joomla Community bislang noch nicht gibt. Es erklärt die grundlegende Bedienung von Joomla für User, die nicht in die Tiefen der Joomla Administration einsteigen, sondern lediglich Inhalte einstellen wollen.

Jeder der Joomla Seiten erstellt und anderen (Kunden, Freunden usw.) unzählige Male erklären musste, wie man Inhalte erstellt, Links und Bilder in Beiträge einfügt oder was Bereiche und Kategorien sind, hat sich so eine Anleitung mit Sicherheit schon mal gewünscht. Mit Joomanuals ist es jetzt sogar möglich solche Anleitungen personalisiert (u.a. eigenes Logo) und mit genau den Informationen versehen zu erstellen, die benötigt werden.

Von dieser Idee begeistert habe ich Kontakt mit dem Entwickler von Joomanuals aufgenommen und so bin ich sehr stolz darauf, dass ich mit ihm zusammen eine deutschsprachige Version umsetzen konnte.

Wir sind natürlich stets bemüht, uns bzw. Joomanuals zu verbessern und freuen uns über Euer Feedback und Anregungen. Für den deutschsprachigen Raum habe ich darum eine Rubrik hier im Forum eingerichtet.

It took a long time, but Nobbi´s Net is now running with Joomla 1.5!

On the first view, there aren´t so many changes, the template and the structure are the same, but beneath the hood a lot of new things came up. I didn´t only change from Fireboard to Kunena and from DocMan to RokDownloads, but I also integratet with RokComments an external possibility for comments. Furthermore with QuickFAQ there is an extensions for the frequently asked questions.

For all of you, who are coming around my site sometimes, it´s not new, that the development of the GITS – Warrants component is sluggish and intermittent. Unfortunately this won`t change in future. I´m used of capacity with my full-time-job, my side job, my family and my hobby here.

Brand new here is the category “Language Files”. For a little fee, you can download german language files, which I have translated or I had big part of their translation. At the moment the german language files for the commercial social networking extension “JomSocial” and for the download component “RokDownloads” are available. More should coming up in future.

IN THIS PLACE I HAVE TO ADVISE YOU EMPHATICALLY THAT THIS IS AN ALPHA VERSION WHICH IS NOT FOR PRODUCTIVE USE. IT´S ONLY FOR TESTING PURPOSE!

Not all functions are implemented yet in this version. So far only the, in my eyes, most important things are working.

A short list, what´s integrated now:

• 25 Fields
• 19 are free nameable
• 3 of the 19 namable fields are text areas in which HTML can be used (for example: line breaks)
• Contact form with 3 additional namable form fields and Captcha against SPAM
• Filter for the E-Mail form (for example: Bad word filter)
• Optical improvements
• Language file Improvements
• Integration (optional) of the warrant image in category view
• Image folder is automatically created on installation (images/stories/steckbriefe)
• Search plugin for Joomla search
• Sh404SEF extension
• and much more..

This is planed:

• Showing up renamed field names in the settings
• Add/Edit Warrants in the frontend (only your own, Manager and higher every warrant)
• Allocate warrants to more than one category
• Sorting Warrants in the frontend (A-Z, Z-A, …)
• A changelog is included in the download package

There is no time plan for further releases. It depends on the time I could offer and how it would be going forward.
